Running from November 17 until December 10, 2022, Liberty Alive will see a forgotten theatre and lost city laneway burst back to life for an epic program of live music, art, local food, craft beer, fun and festivities.
This immersive, one-time-only music and laneway festival is presented by Otherside Brewing Co, in partnership with Crafted Events and is proudly supported by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural
Industries via their CBD Activation Grant Initiative.
From 5pm until late each Thursday to Saturday for almost a month, Liberty Alive will breathe life into the iconic Liberty Theatre on Barrack Street, Perth and its rear laneway off Murray Street Mall for the first time in 25 years.
Comprising of three distinct spaces each alive with their own character - Liberty Theatre, Liberty Laneway and Liberty Lounge - there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The live music line-up for the Liberty Theatre is massive, with tickets on sale now via Moshtix to see the likes of Methyl Ethel’s Precent I, BAD//DREEMS, Jaguar Jonze, Mama Kin Spender with the WAAPA Gospel Choir + Old Blood, Adrian Dzvuke, Alter Boy, Project Bexx, Siobhan Cotchin and the WA Badass Gospel Choir and many more.
The rear laneway experience – Liberty Laneway – offers a sparkling blend of bars (featuring the best of Otherside Brewing Co and local ciders & wines), DJs, street art, local food vendors, and human connection. With fun and festivities for the many – families, friends, dogs and co-workers – it’s free and open to everyone.
Al Taylor, CEO of Triple-1-Three said Liberty Alive will offer everyone a unique opportunity to experience this extraordinary space alive once again.
“The Liberty Theatre was Perth’s first art house cinema when it opened in 1954. It has been closed for over 20 years and we can’t wait to bring it to life with an amazing line-up of artists and more for a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Mr Taylor said.
“The rear laneway to the Liberty Theatre – which we have dubbed ‘Liberty Lane’ - will be equally compelling. A laneway festival with bars serving Otherside beers, great local wine and cocktails, art, music, DJs and familyfriendly
entertainment and local food.
“When we first saw this space we wondered how such an amazing place could’ve being lying dormant for so long?
“Live music was our first idea, and thanks to the passion and generosity of the owners and the CBD Activation Grant, we were able to grow the Liberty Alive concept into something very special for many people to enjoy.” Mr
Taylor finished.
